When and How To Cut Someone Off:

As a bartender, I’ve learned that cutting off a guest can be a little difficult but staying calm, cool and collected is essential. At some wedding venues, security personnel can assist in these situations, so if you’re working with a partner, make sure to communicate which guests may need to be monitored or cut off.

If you're working an event alone, avoid blaming the guest for over-drinking, as this can quickly escalate tensions. Instead, try a few effective strategies: pour lighter drinks, offer them water, or ask for some help from a reasonable friend or date. Ultimately, your job is to create a positive experience for everyone but always in a safe and responsible way.
