The Shoe Game

The shoe game is a fun and entertaining reception game that helps guests learn about the couple in a light-hearted and humorous way. Here is how it works:

• Setup

  • Two chairs are placed back-to-back in the middle of the dance floor, so the couple can’t see each other.

  • Each person removes their shoes and exchanges one shoe with their partner, so each person hold one of their own shoes and one of their partner’s shoes.

• Questions:

  • The couple or the couple’s family and friends prepare about 15 - 20 questions for the DJ to ask the couple.

  • Questions can be common or very specific to the couple. Feel free to get as creative and unique as you want!

  • Common questions include the following:

    • Who said “I love you” first?

    • Who is more of a morning person?

    • Who is messier?

    • Who is the better driver?

• Answering:

  • For each question, the couple raises the shoe of the person who is most likely to fit that answer.

    • Ex: “Who is messier?” If the groom thinks the bride is messier, then he raises the bride’s shoe. If the bride thinks the groom is messier, then she raises his shoe.

  • When couples have different answers for questions, it makes the game a lot of fun. The audience usually reacts with a lot of cheering and laughter.
